Ziel ist die F\u00f6rderung des Dialogs \u00fcber Baukultur, Architektur, Stadtentwicklung und Kunst im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum zwischen Deutschland und der Tschechischen Republik. Die Reihe wird in Kooperation und mit Unterst\u00fctzung der Architektenkammer Berlin (AKB), der Tschechischen Architektenkammer (\u010cKA), der Nationalgalerie Prag (NGP) sowie weiteren Partnern umgesetzt. April 2025 \/\/ 18:30 Uhr<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading pb-2\">Qualities of living and spacing.<br>Sustainable housing and the spaces in between<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can sustainable urban living spaces and spaces in between be designed? This question is the focus of the first evening of the newly launched German-Czech discussion series \u201carchint at BHROX\u201d on architecture and urban development topics in Berlin.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>What role do urban spaces in between play in residential architecture? How should architects deal with spaces in between when planning sustainable buildings and living spaces today? Should planners design such spaces more consciously, or should they instead encourage the imagination and co-creation of residents and leave them to their own appropriation? Can this be purely the responsibility or the privilege of the users? How do in-between spaces support an additional, sustainable quality of life \u2013 and what value do they have in light of current challenges in housing construction and future transformational developments? This set of questions will be discussed at the event, in which Czech and German experiences will jointly examine the topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two publications provide a special introduction:<br>First, the anthology &#8222;<em>M\u011bsto naruby \u2013 The City from the Inside Out<\/em>&#8220; \u2013 by Czech social anthropologist Radan Haluz\u00edk, which examines the in-between spaces in cities from various disciplinary perspectives and raises the question of their impact and significance for sustainable urban development. And, again a comprehensive study of recommendations and conclusions, the position paper &#8222;<em>Positions on Housing in Berlin<\/em>&#8220; by the Berlin Chamber of Architects presents essential recommendations and conclusions for future-oriented and sustainable urban development and housing construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both short presentations will be followed by a dynamic panel discussion with leading experts in the fields of architecture and urban development. Practical contributions from planners with professional experience in both countries, as well as from the Czech Chamber of Architects (\u010cKA) and the Berlin Chamber of Architects (AKB), will create a platform for exchange and knowledge transfer between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"pb-2\">The international series \u201carchint at BHROX\u201d brings together experts and the interested public from Germany and the Czech Republic to discuss current topics related to architecture, urban development, and building culture. The three evenings in 2025 under the motto \u201cIn Between\u201d will focus on sustainable housing and public space, women in architecture, and the treatment of late modernist public buildings.
